Triathlon Motorized Shades
A row of shades rises together and stops at the height you choose. The fabric, finish, and movement all contribute to how the room looks. Triathlon is our go-to because it brings that level of control to both finished homes and new construction.
- A Clean Line Across the Windows
- Lutron coordinates shade movement and aligns the bottom bars across a group. Quiet motors and repeatable positioning matter in a bedroom, and they give a large window wall a consistent appearance.
- Made for Your Windows
- Each shade is sized for its opening. Choose a fabric-wrapped or metal cover over the roller, then coordinate the fabric and bottom bar with the trim and furnishings.
- Daylight on Your Schedule
- Raise the bedroom shades in the morning or lower the west-facing shades before afternoon glare reaches the sofa. A compatible Lutron system combines individual control, grouped shades, and scheduled positions.
Battery power makes Triathlon a practical upgrade for existing rooms. Wired power is available for construction projects and windows where battery access is difficult.

Keep the fabric and tailored folds central to the design. Lutron’s Roman shade fabrication kits add motorized movement to custom treatments, giving your designer room to work with fabrics that complement the furnishings.
Drapery & Architectural Shades
Open a full wall of drapery with one command, or layer it over roller shades for different light levels. Sivoia supports custom tracks and specialty applications; Palladiom makes the exposed roller and finished brackets part of the architecture.

- Sheer solar fabrics filter sunlight while keeping a connection outdoors. The weave’s openness and color affect the view, glare, and heat entering the room. We compare samples at your window.
- Create Privacy
- Translucent fabrics diffuse daylight and obscure the view through the glass. Privacy needs a day-and-night check: a fabric’s appearance changes when the room is brighter than the outdoors.
- Darken the Room
- Blackout fabric blocks light through the material. The fit around its edges matters too. For bedrooms and theaters, we plan overlap, side channels, or layered treatments to control those gaps.

An engraved “Dinner” or “Goodnight” button can recall several lighting levels and shade positions together. Light bars show the active scene, and we choose the button layout and labels with you.

Diva Smart Dimmer
The paddle turns the lights on and off; the separate slider sets brightness where you can see it. Add a Caséta Smart Hub for app control, saved scenes, schedules, and compatible voice assistants.
Control Where You Sit
Pico Smart Remote
Put a light or shade control beside the bed, on a tabletop pedestal, or at a second doorway. This battery-powered remote also mounts on the wall, adding a control point with wireless communication.
RadioRA 3 brings the room together. Sunnata controls, motorized shades, and compatible Lumaris lighting work within one system. A keypad by the door can set several rooms at once, with more rooms added over time. The Lutron app gives you control of lights and shades and lets you adjust supported scenes and schedules.
Caséta makes everyday upgrades straightforward. Start with Diva dimmers in the rooms you use most, add Pico remotes where another control would help, and connect a Smart Hub for schedules and access away from home. Its dedicated Clear Connect wireless connection keeps dimmers, remotes, and the hub communicating; physical controls and saved schedules continue working during a Wi-Fi outage.

Light, Color & Control
Lumaris Tunable White Lighting
Turn the kitchen lights up for prep, then choose a warmer tone for the evening. With Lumaris tunable white downlights and tape lighting on RadioRA 3, brightness and the warmth of the white light are separate choices. Save the combination you like for each activity.
Downlights & Tape Lighting
Downlights illuminate the room; tape lighting brings light to cabinets, shelves, and architectural details. Control their levels separately, then save the combination as a scene. Select Lumaris tape lights also add adjustable color.
Lighting & Shade Scenes
A “Dinner” scene can lower the shades, dim the pendants, and leave the kitchen counters softly lit. “Goodnight” can turn off selected lights across the house from a bedside control. We program the rooms and levels you choose.
Sunset-Based Lighting Schedules
Sunset-based lighting schedules adjust as the seasons change. Combine them with timed shade settings so the house is ready for your evening, with manual control whenever you want to change it.
We design the fixtures, shade fabrics, and controls together through our lighting and shading service. With compatible equipment, those scenes can also join music and video in your home automation system.

Questions, Answered
Planning Your Lighting & Shades
Can I start with a few windows or one room?
Yes. A bedroom, a sunny living room, or a few frequently used lights can be the starting point. RadioRA 3 and Caséta both support expansion. We account for the rooms you may add later when choosing the system and its capacity.
Should my shades use batteries or wired power?
Battery-powered Triathlon shades work well in finished rooms. Wired power is useful during construction and for high windows where battery access would be difficult. We check mounting depth, trim, handles, and access before ordering, and coordinate wiring while the walls are open when the project allows.
How often will I change the batteries?
Lutron lists a typical three-to-five-year battery life for standard Triathlon roller shades with D-cell batteries. Triathlon Select has a different estimate of about two years. Size, fabric, use, and configuration affect battery life, so we identify the model and maintenance expectations in your proposal.
Can I keep my existing light fixtures?
Often, yes. The bulb or LED driver determines how well a fixture dims and which control it needs. We check compatibility and adjust the dimming range so the low setting is useful. Tunable white requires compatible fixtures, such as Lumaris; replacing a dimmer alone does not give an ordinary light adjustable color temperature.
Do I need a hub or an app to use the controls?
The wall dimmers provide everyday control directly. Caséta uses a Smart Hub for app access, schedules, and compatible voice control; RadioRA 3 uses a processor to coordinate the system. For Triathlon shades connected to Caséta, we specify Smart Hub PRO. We include the required equipment in the design and show you how the buttons and app work together.
Can Lutron work with my Control4 system?
Yes. Compatible Lutron lighting and shades can join Control4 scenes with your audio and video. For example, a theater command can start the system, lower the shades, and adjust the lights. We confirm the Lutron equipment and integration requirements for your existing or planned Control4 system.
What determines the price of an installation?
For shades, the main variables are window dimensions, fabric, shade style, mounting, and power. For lighting, the number and type of circuits, fixtures, controls, and programming shape the scope. We build a proposal around the rooms you want to improve and can plan the work in phases.
Can you help with an existing Lutron system?
Yes. We handle troubleshooting, programming changes, replacement controls, shade adjustments, and additions, including systems installed by another company. Send photos of the controls and a description of the issue to help us prepare. Service calls carry a minimum charge.
