Austin Home Remodel

This was a top to bottom remodel of an older home whose original wiring and coaxial cabling no longer served anything. The footprint changed dramatically from its original shape and feel, adding a significant second-story master bedroom, the golf simulator room, and an arts and crafts room.

We were brought in to automate the entire home, update the wiring to support the new system, and build one network that works indoors and out. Planning from the working blueprints, we determined the ideal locations for signal overlap, so the homeowners and their guests have wireless coverage everywhere inside, on the covered patio, and out by the pool and its neighboring sitting areas.

Most rooms got Triad in-ceiling speakers with very low-profile grills that blend into the white ceilings. In the family room, a Samsung Frame display mounts over a hidden in-wall back box that holds all of the supporting electronics, including an intelligent surge protector with remote app-based reboots. When a piece of equipment needs a restart, we or the homeowner can power-cycle it without taking the TV off the wall.

The centralized equipment rack sits in a closet the wiring plan pointed to on its own, a true central location. Control4 is the glue that binds it all together: the homeowners reach for handheld remotes or their phone apps to run the TVs, music, pool, and HVAC.

The simulator itself was supplied and installed by a local golf simulator company. Our work was the space around it: the planning, wiring, and audio infrastructure that make the room work with their system. Every TV shown here came from us.

Pool control joins the rest of the house on one platform, so the water is as easy to run as the lights.
